This whole time, Rusty Brown has seemed like the next major Ware work, with Building Stories more of an engine for generating simple, poignant pieces for well-paying periodicals. Noel: Since finishing his groundbreaking graphic novel Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid On Earth, Chris Ware has primarily been working on two projects: the serialized graphic novel Rusty Brown, which has been running in Ware’s infrequently published comic-book series Acme Novelty Library and Building Stories, which Ware has run in Acme as well as in scattered comics anthologies and general-interest magazines.
